30/12/2014 – Call for research proposals under the European project ERA-NET Networking for Action E-Rare-3: JOINT TRANSNATIONAL CALL FOR PROPOSALS (2015) FOR “European Research Projects on Rare Diseases”
Under the E-Rare-3 for further research efforts in the field of rare diseases and implementation of its objectives “International Rare Disease Research Consortium (IRDiRC)” announced, on December 20, 2014, Joint Call for co-financing research projects between the States participating in the tender, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Turkey.
Objective and Themes
The purpose of the call is to enable scientists in different countries to build effective cooperation on a joint interdisciplinary project based on complementarity and the sharing of expertise.
The thematic areas of the notice to be decided jointly by the participating states are as follows:
Collaborative research using patient databases and corresponding collections of biological material that would generally not be possible at a national scale,
Research on rare diseases including genetic,
Research on development of applications for diagnosis and therapies for rare diseases.
The project proposals should clearly demonstrate the potential impact on health, and the added value of transnational cooperation: critical mass of patients / biological material, allocate resources (models, databases, diagnosis, etc.), data harmonization the exchange of expertise / innovative technologies, etc.
The projects approved will be up to 36 months.
The deadline for submission of proposals will be February 18, 2015.
The financing of Greek actors States consortia whose proposals will be adopted, will be made by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology through the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship, Innovation” (Restart), which is one of the five sectoral operational programs Partnership Agreement (new NSRF) for the period 2014-2020. The overall contribution of GSRT projects with Greek participation to be adopted is scheduled to rise to EUR 500,000.00, subject to the approval of the re-election which is expected. The above amount will be divided into five proposals, ie. 100,000 per proposal with Greek participation.
